Delta Dental Insurance
dental insurance policy online, but please don’t hesitate to bring along your plan documents. We’ll be happy to review your specific coverage and answer any questions you may have.
Dental Insurance Basics
Dental insurance can be very confusing. Each dental insurance plan is a unique agreement between a patient, their employer, and an insurer. That means, two people who work for the same office can have different benefit plans. Lucky for our Burlington dental patients, our knowledgeable team is happy to explain your coverage. Before beginning any procedure, our team will walk you through all of your potential treatments and explain the insurance coverage for each option. We provide accurate estimated insurance coverage and out of pocket expenses, so you’re never surprised by the cost of care. We’re happy to help you secure financing for your treatments as well. Additionally, most plans have annual maximums. In order to help you make the most of this coverage, we’ll need to know more about your coverage year. Your plan may follow a calendar year or be determined by your company’s fiscal year or other dates. Once we know the beginning and end of your coverage year, we can help you plan out treatment to ensure you stay within allowed maximums.
An important factor in understanding dental insurance coverage is understanding the difference between in-network and out-of-network coverage. We are in-network for Delta Dental Premier Plan patients. That means we’ve agreed to the preset pricing outlined for this plan. Because we have agreed to charge the price considered fair and average, you receive the maximum benefit for every service. Out-of-network providers can charge more than the preset insurance pricing, but you have to pay the difference between those two prices in addition to your percentage of the set treatment price. Choosing an in-network dentist is the best way to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your Delta Dental Premier Plan coverage.
Out-of-Network Dental Insurance Claims
If you have other Delta Dental coverage or use a different PPO insurer who we are not in-network with, we are happy to process and file your claims. We can’t promise all of our pricing will be within the provider’s preset limits, but we will do our utmost to ensure you receive the dental insurance coverage you’ve invested in.
Preventive Care is Key
Because insurance providers know that keeping your smile healthy is best for your oral health, preventive care is almost always 100% covered by insurance providers. That includes Delta Dental Premier Plan patients. In keeping with the recommendations of the American Dental Association, your Burlington dentist recommends visiting our office at least twice a year for dental checkups. We’ll examine your smile and partner with you to prevent most common oral health concerns.
