December is a hectic month, but make sure you don’t overlook one simple task in the holiday rush. If you have a medical flexible savings account, commonly known as “FSA”, check its balance – and check with your benefits department – make sure you don’t end up wasting your money.
Typically FSA accounts are set up to be used during one calendar year and the balance is lost if it’s not used during that year. However, an FSA is a good idea to cover annual dental and medical expenses using pre-tax dollars.
You can use your FSA for medical and dental related expenses that insurance doesn’t cover. There are many services offered at Richard Lewis, D.M.D. & Associates that are covered by a FSA.
Do you need a check up? A cleaning to make your teeth sparkle for all those holiday pictures? You can use your FSA for the co-pay. Thinking about a whitening procedure? Veneers? Is a tooth bothering you, do you need a filling? Or would a mouth guard ease your jaw pain?
