Our office has always embraced preventive dentistry. As an example of our commitment to preventive dentistry, we believe that the best way to deal with dental decay is to prevent it.
Currently in our dental practice, we have two very good procedures to knock the bottom out of tooth decay. The first is the use of fluoride. It has been known for a very long time that fluoride makes tooth enamel strong and very resistant to decay. Fluoride is widely used in toothpastes and dental offices to limit or eliminate tooth decay,
The second is the use of dental sealants. Dental sealants use bonding and white tooth-like composite material to seal out decay in both baby teeth and new adult teeth before it starts. Sealants are strong so they protect teeth for a very long time.
The combination of fluoride treatments and sealants has had such an impact on our young patients that many of the children and young adult patients in our practice have never had tooth decay! Just take the time to think about it. How wonderful and different it must be to have beautiful, untouched teeth and not have had to sit for fillings! It’s more common than you might think.
So we invite you to bring your children to our office for their dental care. We have Dr. Mina Schafft, a board certified specialist in Dental Pediatrics, on hand to take excellent care of your children. You can reach us at 781-272-5890.
