Porcelain Laminates

The development of adhesive bonding to enamel led to the chemistry of bonding the same materials to porcelain. Today, the state of the art is custom made artistically constructed thin veneers of porcelain, which are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. Time and technological advances have proven them to be extremely reliable and long-lasting. This procedure requires removal of some enamel and requires at least two dental appointments. The laminates are fabricated by dental ceramic technicians and then bonded to place by the dentist on the second visit. Most but not all patients require temporaries between appointments. This procedure is not reversible.
